A total of 283.2 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emitted in the US have been reduced since the launch of ENERGY STAR in 1992. Annual cost of electrical bills for an average Texan is $1650 and $400 more annually for those who use natural gas at the same time but because of the availability of energy efficient appliances in residences; those costs are cut back up to 50 percent.
